The Grange Hall, a handsome ca. 1840 stone building in the middle of Keeseville's historical district, provides a perfect space for meetings, music, dinners, lectures, and the Grange's other activities The Ausable Valley Grange bought the Horse Nail Factory counting building in 1914 and has lovingly used this building since then. One of our priorities is preserving this building and keeping it available for communtiy use. The Grange Hall has a wonderful meeting room, a bathroom, and small kitchen area (with a cold water tap but no drain - just a bucket. We want to upgarde this!). The second floor is a large meeting room wiith a stage. Renovations are paid for by our annual December fundraising auction. Renovations were begun in 2003. We have upgraded much of the electrical wiring, and the lights both upstairs and downstairs. March 2005 is seeing a plumbing upgrade so that the water can stay on all the time, and we won't have frozen plumbing! Thank you Pete Blaso. Next project is to upgrade the kitchen facilities and replace two beams so we can dance upstairs again. |
